Calibrations and Lab Work
Initial calibration of Optical Backscatterance Sensors (OBSs) using surface
sediments collected at the study site just prior to deployment of the
instrument package.
Water samples were filtered throughout the study period to determine total
suspended solids concentration for calibration of the OBSs and the ADCP
acoustic backscatter intensity record.
Water quality profiles (salinity and total
suspended solids) were made hourly at the same time that water
samples were pumped from depth at the location of OBS
measurements on the ADCP platform.
